Lucy Cowie (Ngāti Ranginui) won the 2015 scholarship.
She is undertaking her honours degree in Psychology at the University of Auckland. Her dissertation will focus on the role of Māori identity in predicting the extent to which people endorse environmentalism.
Lucy is a research assistant at the New Zealand Attitudes and Values Study in the School of Psychology at the University of Auckland and her undergraduate thesis Identifying distinct subgroups of Green voters: a Latent Profile Analysis of crux values relating to Green Party Support, which she wrote with LM Greaves and CG Sibley, has been submitted for publication.
